Rockstar is well-known and beloved for making some of the best computer games out there, such as Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto. However, even though their games are pretty awesome, gamers are likely to experience all sorts of problems. Game-related issues, privacy problems, hacking incidents, and launcher issues are all good ways to turn your gaming experience into frustration.
In such cases, your first instinct is probably to contact Rockstar’s customer support. Unfortunately, it’s easier said than done. Since Rockstar receives hundreds, or even thousands, complaints every single day, they support reps aren’t able to respond to each. As a result, when you try to dial their customer service hotline, you will have to deal with automated replies, never-ending transfers, and wait on hold for way too long. As Westuc research has shown, an average person spends as many as 43 days of their life waiting on hold. That’s as long as a 6-week vacation!
Sending emails is no better. Even if you do eventually get a reply (which is not guaranteed), you will have to wait for days, and sometimes weeks! To make matters even worse, there’s always a chance you won’t get a reply at all. Some users try to contact Rockstar customer service via their social media platforms. While this may yield some results, it’s not a strategy that will work every time. According to research conducted by Oracle, 79% of people who complained about their issues online reported their posts were ignored.
Fortunately, there is a way to reach a customer service rep without wasting your time: DoNotPay. DoNotPay app’s aim is to make things easier for the consumers and save them from anger, frustration, and an occasional nervous breakdown. You can download the app for free from Apple’s App Store. In case you prefer other devices (and operative systems), you can always open DoNotPay in any web browser you want.
Once you enter the app, all you need to do is click on the customer support option and type in the name of the company: e.g. Rockstar. You will see a timer that will show you how long it will take the app to reach a customer support rep. While the app does your waiting time, you can get on with your regular activities. If the estimated time is longer, let’s say over 45 minutes, you can make lunch, play with your kids, or even watch a Game of Thrones episode. In the meantime, the app will be trying to get ahold of the customer service. Once a customer rep picks up, you will receive a notification.
DoNotPay was founded by Joshua Browder, a young English entrepreneur who got tired of wasting his time on useless customer service phone lines. According to Browder, customers need someone to stick for them and support their rights. The so-called Robin Hood of the Internet explained what drove him to create the app: “I think the world would be a lot fairer place if people had someone fighting for them.”
You can also use DoNotPay to record your conversations with Rockstar’s customer service team. This may prove to be incredibly useful, especially if it all leads to a legal dispute. When asked about this new feature, Browder replied: “Before they make a decision that rips off the customer, they’ll think ‘this could be made public and go viral and hurt our business.’”
